How to get to Sougia
Sougia is a small, graphical, and picturesque village, which is located in the southwest of Chania Prefecture. 65 km away from the city of Chania, but how can you get there?
There are up to three buses a day from Chania to Sougia, depending on which period of time you plan to go. In addition, there are some buses, which come from Omalos, Paleochora, and Elafonisi to Sougia. You can find Sougia’s Bus Timetable here or you can visit the Official Bus Timetable here.
This is probably the most popular choice. If you plan to visit Sougia via Taxi, we would recommend you to book in advance. Please visit our Taxi/Minivan transportation page so as to book your taxi.
You are able to visit Sougia by boat from Paleochora, Agia Roumeli, Loutro, Chora Sfakion, and Gavdos. During the start of the season, there is a small passengers’ boat. Later on, there is a ferry boat, which is also able to transfer cars, trucks, motorcycles, and bikes.
Unfortunately, there are not rental companies in Sougia. This means that you need to rent a car or a motorcycle from another place.
