Finally, we have some great news about our village. In April 2017, an ATM Cash Machine was installed by a global private company. This ATM will operate every year from April till October. Its location is outside of Sougia's infirmary, 50m north from the main square of the village.
It is useful to mention that its installation solved one of the greatest problems of Sougia. In the past many of our visitors had to drive 25-30km away in order to withdraw some money for their local expenses. Now they do not need to worry about this issue anymore.
At this point, I would like to mention that none of the Greek banks was willing to install an ATM in Sougia, despite the countless requests and meetings, indifferent for the local community and without any corporate social responsibility.
